uTorrent Won't Download The File I Want

Hello, I've had this issue before with BitTorrent, and now it happens with uTorrent.

Whenever I get a torrent, and want to download only one file from the multiple files in the torrent, I "Skip" all the files I don't need, and set the only file that I want for "Normal" or "High" Priority. Technically speaking, uTorrent should only get that one file that I want, yet that doesn't happen.

Assuming the file that I want is only 5 MB, uTorrent tends to download 5 MB from any other file of the torrent except for the one that I want. uTorrent never did this the first few weeks I got it, yet it's been doing this ever since. Sometimes I have to download a few GB of a torrent just to get a file or a few files that are a few MB big. Can somebody tell me why this happens and how I can fix it?

Thanks!

I'm assuming they vary in size from torrent to torrent. Yet this happens in a lot of torrents. I don't think it's the size of the pieces issue.

Suppose I set one file's priority to High, and the rest of the 99 files' priorities to Low, I notice that uTorrent downloads the beginning and end parts of all the files in alphabetical order (not downloading the middle sections of the files). Then after it does that to all the files, it will then continue the middle part of the file that is set for High priority.
