.torrent files not saving in the correct directory

  • uTorrent version 2.2.1

I've had this issue for some time now and I'm finally at wits end with trying to fix it. Basically I've set my .torrent files to save to a certain folder but they do not save there at all. To be clear these are the .torrent files themself, not the files i'm trying to download from the torrent. Those save in the correct folder.

As you see, my .torrent files should be saved in the Torrent folder. However they are being saved in the Downloads folder instead.

What I have tried so far:

  • Uninstall/Reinstall my version.
  • Uninstall/Install newest version
  • Revert back to 2.2.1 because it's better imo.
  • Changing Directory settings and locations, turning them off, then turn them back on and switch to the Torrents folder again.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

You're asking for problems by having your three location of .torrents settings the same.

NEVER have the automatically load .torrents from be the same location as EITHER of your other locations.

And if you're getting a copy in both locations, blame your browser, not uTorrent.

After using utorrent for numerous year, I did not know this. I will give it a try and see if it fixes the issue.

From the looks of it your download and complete are the same folder that is why you need to have one for download and one for complete if you want to separate them. If you don't make separate folders as mention your asking for trouble.

1. Download - where unfinished torrents are located until they are finished

2. Completed - where complete downloads go so you know they are finished

3. Torrents - location where torrents are stored

4. Trash - location where finished torrents are sent to

5. I don't use Auto load torrents so I uncheck that box.
