A Neep Knight
Wondering if anyone knows what causes the error message Unexpected network error (hash). Setup: saving files to NAS hard disk via Ethernet. Computer and NAS hard disk connected to the same router with 1000/100/10 Ethernet. Problem only happens when file sizes are larger than maybe 1.2 GB or so. Smaller files are fine. Once the problem starts, I will have it for 7-10 days then it goes away for 1-3 weeks. When the problem appears again, it will always be with file size of 1.2 GB or larger. It is almost as if uTorrent causes a network bug when this happens because I cannot use the large files due to lots of stalling/freezing once the problem starts. When the problem finally goes away, I can view or listen to the large files with no problems until the next time the problem starts. When I get this error uTorrent stops downloading. Click the Download button and uTorrent will start downloading again, but will likely have the problem again every 10-30 minutes. Restarting the torrent always works (the torrent does restart from where it stopped). Tired of poking around looking for a fix... anybody have any ideas? DreadWingKnight
Don't save directly to the nas over the network. Run your bittorrent client directly on the nas if you're going to be saving files to it.
A Neep Knight
OK, never even thought of doing it that way before... will give that a try tonight. Thanks! If there are 2 NAS drives, should I have the client on each NAS drive and only download one type of file at a time (2 drives used for 2 or 3 different types of files)? DreadWingKnight
One drive at a time if you're using 2 nas.
