braiswick
It's the DEP causing the problem, the error report it sends says C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERe714.dir00\explorer.exe.mdmpC:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERe714.dir00\appcompat.txtWhich don't help me! braiswick
You tell me, it's a Windows program that examines software, and if it finds that it's not good, then it'll crash it.
DreadWingKnight
Windows doesn't come with anything like that.
braiswick
It does - the dialogue box open us to say that DEP regards the program as unsafe and is going to close it. It's bad news that it only chooses to do that with Windows. Then it sends an automatic error report to MS
DreadWingKnight
http://www.updatexp.com/data-execution-prevention.htmlSomething else on your system is causing the crash, since a large number of people are running 1.6 without problems. blazo
I notice some anomalistic beharior with the new 1.6 and Explorer.exe in Windows XP Pro - I have always examined downloaded torrents with uT , right click on desired file, click "open containing folder" then using the player of my choice to initiate the file. Now, sometimes when I right click I get an MS error regarding Explorer.exe - "open containing folder" opens a file view in Explorer.exe. Anyone have any answers? All Hail uTorrent!
