LilJur Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 I´ve been using uTorrent for years now, never had any problem. But lately, uTorrent started doing something weird. Everytime I start uTorrent, my internet starts to get unstable. Just look at this graph from 60 seconds. But not only does it get unstable with the speed. It regularly either says "No Internet connection" or disconnects my internet connection. When I reconnect it's all fine for a few mintues but it will surely disconnect or have no connection again. I've even had one time I couldn't reconnect at all and had to restart my computer. Now, this only happens (and has just happend when writing this sentence) once I start uTorrent. When I shut uTorrent, it will also continue for some time, like 30 minutes or so. It's not the router, mutiple computers and phones are connected to it without the same issues. I also don't think it's a virus as I've scanned multiple times with multiple programs
DreadWingKnight Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 Then it's probably the wireless adapter you're using not being able to keep up or not having stable drivers. It could also be internet security software not playing nice.

Also, it seems the longer uTorrent is on, the more frequent the loss of internet is. Currently I have to reconnect every minute or so. But as you imply, the adapter not keeping up. How should I solve that? Limit the speed of uTorrent? Currently I have upload limited at 670kb/s and downloadspeed at unlimited. Still seems a bit odd if this is the issue. Like I said, I've been using uTorrent for years on this computer and never had any issues before
DreadWingKnight Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 My computer says my internet drivers are working fine and are up to date. Windows update is horrid for actually having up to date drivers. And based on the behavior you're describing, the drivers are NOT working fine.
PiusX Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Never use Windows Update to update the drivers that should be done from the laptop maker driver site or each of the hardware driver site. Windows is not known for their support of drivers other then their own. Loading Windows driver is asking for problems.
LilJur Posted August 31, 2016 Author Report Posted August 31, 2016 An important detail I missed out... This all started when I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. And I just figured that is the issue. My driver is outdated but it does work fine. Just not on Windows 10... When I try to update it through the latest driver from the website of Realtek, it doesn't allow me to do so. When I run the setup it says in Dutch "Sorry! Deze bewerking wordt niet ondersteund!!". Which basicly means that updating my driver is not supported. After a google search, I found multiple people having this issue with the setup. Someone said that you have to go to your old OS to install driver updates because Windows 10 refuses to update drivers it seems. I knew I should have sticked with Windows 7
