uTorrent not responding

hey

 

when I try launching uTorrent it's not starting, it is running in the task manager but its not opening. 

it rarely opens and when it does it acts as if it is not responding

ill attach a picture that might demonstrate

 

I tried uninstall/re-install 3-4 times

 

i tried running as admin

 

but still doesn't work

 

I am using windows 10 64bit

Did you make sure your A/V isn't blocking it?

Yes I did make sure. and the problem still persists.

Only this version (in the picture below) works for me. however, when i restart pc or exit and re-open torrent it automatically updates to a newer version ( 3.4.9 ) where the problem happens again. is there any way that I could prevent utorrent from updating automatically? only 3.4.5 (build 41162) seems to be working for me

I had the same issue once on my new PC. Very old (2.2) versions worked, but the latest ones didnt. The interface started up very slow (1-2 minutes), and at every click it did not react for a minute, showing same, unfinished picture as attached above. I accidently stumbled here:

I thought its stupid, but indeed, the moment I closed my Sonic Studio application (didnt uninstalled), utorrent interface speeded up and worked fine. So check if you have Sonic Studio, or other application conflicting with utorrent.
