Problem Right Now: Torrents won't load up in uTorrent.  When I download a .torrent and double click, my uTorrent blinks then nothing.  When I download a magnet .torrent, after some time it shows up in my hidden torrents saying "error: can't open .torrent file xxxxx".  Ever since I've had this issue, none of my torrents are being added to users/appdata/roaming/utorrent.  When the issue started I think I had 3.4.2, but since then I have reinstalled uTorrent many times to no avail.  Now Im on 3.4.9 (latest).  Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with Service Pack 1.

Background:  Can't see how these 2 things can be related to my problem but I'll just put it out there that the only computer events that coincide with this are: 1) I disconnected my 2nd monitor, but my display settings has updated to only show 1 monitor    2) I changed my windows login password.

Troubleshooting:

1) at first when I double clicked a .torrent file, uTorrent didn't even react with a blink.  RIght clicking the file for properties I noticed it said "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to protect your computer".  I never had that before.  There is an option to unblock, which did nothing.  Then I googled that problem and 1 solution I tried was -  RUN gpedit.msc. User Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Attachment Manager - Do not preserve zone information in file attachments - Change setting to Enable.  After this, any new .torrents did not get automatically blocked and have that message.  And this takes me to where I am now, double clicking a .torrent now at least causes uTorrent to blink, but nothing more.

2) Ran CCleaner

3) re-scanned my drives using Microsoft Security Essentials

Strange, this time I reinstalled uTorrent while deleting my settings file (aka forced my settings to reset) and it's fixed for now.  I haven't touched my uTorrent settings in months, that's kind of strange, but just glad it's working now.
