Kransky MacWurst III
I hope that is not really your name. If it is you are silly posting it. uTorrent let's you share files from your computer to other computers and from other computers to your computer. It is not done directly, or in one go. It is done piece by piece with each piece being assembled like a jigsaw from anybody who has it. It is like you are playing a game of cards and are trying to get a complete deck of cards by asking everyone else: "Do you have a Queen of Spades?, do you have a Nine of Diamonds? etc" until you have finally collected all the cards. A "torrent" file is created which is like a key that divides your file up into pieces and let's it be shared across as many receivers who want it. uTorrent or any other Torrent software can then find all the pieces from whoever has them and reassembles them into a complete file on the receiver's computer. This can be extremely fast if there are a lot of people sharing the file and they have fast internet connection, or it can be slow if there are only a few people and their connection is slow. Also since it depends on users keep sharing the file it is possible to end up with only part of the file, with parts missing. In practice most people share and keep sharing for at least some time, passing it onto new downloaders. Over time though those files can be harder to get or remain incomplete. If you click on the file in uTorrent and look down the bottom of the window you can see how much of the file is being shared. It can be a gamble to get the whole file, but if your connection is good and long enough usually you do get 100%. Sometimes you do not and have to cancel the incomplete data file to get it off your computer. A sign that there might be a problem is a lot of Peers (people like you trying to get the file) in brackets and zero or few Seeds (people with the whole file sharing).
