tokm-nikita Posted December 11, 2016 Report Posted December 11, 2016 I am about the only seeder of a certain torrent. When peers show up as connected, let's say 2(10), my uTorrent still doesn't upload to them. Why? Please note that I do have the latest stable version and otherwise have no problem with uploading, and I upload and download quite fine, thank you, in general.
PiusX Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Screen shot of the problem otherwise for help or no help.
tokm-nikita Posted December 12, 2016 Author Report Posted December 12, 2016 See the "David_Layla.avi" upload in the screenshot below. It has 2 peers, of which 1 is active? Why is my uTorrent not uploading to that one active peer? I noticed this happening a lot, with various of my torrents. Other torrents are uploading just fine, as you can see.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Because you're not the only seed on the torrent and they're probably getting the pieces from that other seed.
tokm-nikita Posted December 13, 2016 Author Report Posted December 13, 2016 But the same also happens to the last upload in the list, Crave, where as you can see I am the only seeder. By the way, 0(0) seems to prove uTorrent doesn't count take me into account...
DreadWingKnight Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Crave literally has 0 peers on the torrent.
tokm-nikita Posted December 13, 2016 Author Report Posted December 13, 2016 In the screenshot above you can see that Crave has 11 peers (in the mean time 21 already), and even when one of them becomes active, like 1(11), it doesn't upload. And I am the only seeder of that torrent. So why doesn't it upload?
DreadWingKnight Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Because the peers aren't actually there. The number outside of the brackets isn't the number of "active" peers, it's the number of "CONNECTED" peers. 11 is a guess based on tracker provided information and peers that have since disconnected from you.
tokm-nikita Posted December 13, 2016 Author Report Posted December 13, 2016 I repeat that a few days ago that torrent had 1 connected peer, and still didn't upload.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 You have no control over the behavior of other peers. You can't force-feed them.
tokm-nikita Posted December 15, 2016 Author Report Posted December 15, 2016 LOL. I understand. But it is not as if those peers pressed some red button "Don't download this torrent for real!". So from the perspective of the designers of uTorrent, why doesn't the program take care to upload this torrent? Especially since I am the only seeder in the swarm.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 15, 2016 Report Posted December 15, 2016 Because the downloaders probably have their connection saturated doing other things.
tokm-nikita Posted December 16, 2016 Author Report Posted December 16, 2016 That's sounds like a possibility. Thanks for all your patient replies.
