spaceboy2095 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Well it happens since I've upgraded to the 1.6 Torrent version. in the torrent bar on my desk, it is written that it is downloading but when I go to the torrent window it is not? I never had that problem before! Could you help me?Is it a problem from my internet connection? From the upgrade? Or from something else?Help me pleas I'm desperate (but not a housewife...lol)
Switeck Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 What color is the icon at the bottom of µTorrent's window? (green=good, yellow=bad, red=disaster!)
spaceboy2095 Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 It's yellow! It says it means the connection is bad but E-mule is currently working fine! What's happening?
MaxP2P Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Yeah, same thing here. The triangle icon constantly changes from yellow to red, sometime it goes green, but only for a short period of time. But it's mostly stuck at yellow.1.5 was working just fine. I tested the ports, and they showed up OK.No firewall or anything. (router forwarded correctly.)
spaceboy2095 Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 My problem is even more weird for on the bar icon on the bottom of my screen for Torrent it sometimes says 1.5 K for downloads and 0.8 for uploads but on my torrent screen there nothing whatsoever downloading or uploading (I got no current files to be uploaded anyway...)I think I'm gonna downgrade to the 1.5 version...
Switeck Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Sounds like DHT is running...and possibly causing you trouble...if you see any upload/download activity when no torrents are downloading/uploading.You sure about Win XP firewall being disabled?
spaceboy2095 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 Bad news... It's not working anymore... And the WIN XP Firewall is disabled...
Switeck Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Argh, I'm starting to wonder if it's a Microsoft plot to destroy file-sharing....or a widespread super-virus. Do you have a router or firewall to protect your computer from the internet? If not, you're probably running something you'll wish you weren't by now.µTorrent just needs 1 "hole" in a router and firewall to get through unhindered. That same hole cannot be used by viruses and trojans unless they're already on your computer escaping out.Have you tried Speed Guide (CTRL+G) with both DHT and UPnP in µTorrent disabled?
spaceboy2095 Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 I've done all you told me, it seems to be working... At least for now! lolThanks!Do you think I have a virus or a trojan? By the way, what is a trojan? And what is the DHT??? (I know my questions may sound silly...)
