Uttorrent mac - speed drops

I am running uttorrent 1.8.7 on OS X 10.12.1. From time to time the speed suddenly drops down from my connection max. speed (3,5 MBit/s) down to about 10-100 kbit. After I while it goes back up, but then drops again. There is no one else using much bandwidth and my network works fine to other bandwidth intensive tasks. I am typically downloading several torrents with many seeds. I use a Asus nighthawk R7000 router connected to a singel output modem.

And you aren't factoring in the peers you're downloading from.
