Traktor
I am running uttorrent 1.8.7 on OS X 10.12.1. From time to time the speed suddenly drops down from my connection max. speed (3,5 MBit/s) down to about 10-100 kbit. After I while it goes back up, but then drops again. There is no one else using much bandwidth and my network works fine to other bandwidth intensive tasks. I am typically downloading several torrents with many seeds. I use a Asus nighthawk R7000 router connected to a singel output modem.
DreadWingKnight
You were already answered in the other post. Nothing you can do to control the other peers on the torrent.
Traktor
So you are saying that it is normal that the total speed, all torrents combined, suddenly drops from 3,5 MB/s to 10 kB/s when I am downloading for example 5 different torrents because of many peers? That seems just so unlikely to me.
DreadWingKnight
Not much you can do if other peers stop sending to you.

How likely is it at ALL the seeds on ALL the torrents I am downloading stops sending at the very same time?
DreadWingKnight
Based on your problem description, it's extremely likely. Assuming your ISP isn't fucking you over.

It is most likely your storage device not being able to keep up with the download speed. If your disk overloads and the read/write cache is full then your download speeds will throttle down to a stand still until you are able to write to the disk again. Hope this helps.
