lhahehal Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 hi guyz , i was wondering is it advisable to download files directly to portable hdd using utorrnet or is it better to change the hdd inside the laptop ??
µtorrent-Guest Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 you can save to a portable HDD flawlessly.just make shure you always use the same driveletter for it so µT will find the stuff.you might even want to same the exe selfcontained with the settings file on that hdd so you can torrent were ever you have the HDD with you
lhahehal Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 icic .. so even if i turn on hibernate mode downloading will still be available ??
µtorrent-Guest Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 can the canadian brownbear catch fish while he hibernates thru the winter?
lhahehal Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 lol guess your right.. but is there say recommended type of portable hdd to use ?? with fan , sata or just anything type would do ... as i will be using it 24/7
µtorrent-Guest Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 AFAIR only those expensiver (Server) HDDs are certified for 24/7 run.Not those consumer thingy thinks you mentioned.Anyway an external (metal NOT plasic) case with fan might be a good idea non the less to controll the heating.
muwa Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I've got cheap plastic HDD enclosure called ULTRA Mini Portable Disk. I run it for 12 hours per day and performance is great.
