Wuzzie
Hi,In my house we have a router with 5 connections going into it (4 wired, 1 wireless - mine is wired) When all connection except mine are being used, when pinging the site of our ISP it is usually around 40ms with mine (when I'm not using µTorrent) it's about 46ms but if I AM using µTorrent it gets around 400-600ms. When I'm using µTorrent it really slows down our internet. Right now I am using Port 16893. The torrent i am downloading it averaging 3.4kB/s atm so I don't know why it's being so slow. I'm only downloading one torrent.Anybody know why it's slowign down my internet so much?
DreadWingKnight
How many peer connections do you have set in uT's preferences? (Preferences->BitTorrent)
Switeck
DHT and UPnP in µTorrent can put a very heavy strain on poor-quality networking equipment, try disabling them.Have you run Speed Guide (CTRL+G) in µTorrent? Remember you are sharing the connection, so if it tells you that your upload is xx/256k ...then you really shouldn't use anything higher than xx/192k, and maybe only xx/128k or even xx/64k! alex87062145
I went to dslreports.com and ran its tests and i came up with xx/73.3 with verizon DSL, seems really low or is that just how verizons upload is?And even if i put the Network Wizard Connection Type to xx/64k it still slows down my connection to the point where i cant even view any web pages, most of the time it wont even let me open firefox. Switeck
Have you changed any advanced settings in µTorrent from their default values?
alex87062145
I have a while ago cause I read somewhere that by uping some nuber on there would make for fast downloads, but I just checked it out and everything is in there default settings. Switeck
Btw, did you run the speed check earlier while nothing else was accessing the internet (even on ALL computers there)? If so, try the Speed Guide's xx/64kbit setting.

Firon
What's your upload cap? And yes 73.3kbps seems VERY VERY low. Sounds wrong, to be honest.
