Game90
take a look at this software: http://www.ipp2p.org/recently this software has been brought up on some local networking forums. Apparently upon testing, the software does detect PE (BC 0.70). the software claims to achieve this by "searching payloads of TCP packets for signaling patterns"its seems to me that the software is only making intiellgent guesses, as bruteforce cracking consumes too much resources. But why does it only detects BC encryption? Isnt PE standardized on all major clients? Any Experts on this matter?
Klaus_1250
From their website, it is said that they only recognize PHE, not PE. Could be that BC 0.70 still has support build in for PHE to older BC-clients.

Dark Shroud
Yeah, that software only detects BitComet's PHE which was only in 0.59-0.62. 0.63+ use the new PE which is not detectable yet. But now some ISPs throttle everything except what they recognise.
