n4ken Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 I'm running version 3.4.9 build 43223. I've only just updated from 3.4.2 because of a problem with the Run Program feature in Advanced menu. This has worked perfectly for some time running filebot to sort the downloads into their various categories. For some reason this feature has stopped working. As I have already said I tried an update but the problem persists. Copying the command line from Run program when torrent finished to Run when torrent changes state works perfectly. If I try running a simple "Hello world" batch file the problems remains, runs when state changes but not when torrent finishes. It also seems that if I do a clean install of uTorrent it works for a couple of times and then breaks again? All file paths are in "quotes" and nothing has changed on the system, running windows 10. Any idea what the problem can be. Any advice is much appreciated.
n4ken Posted January 29, 2017 Author Report Posted January 29, 2017 I have taken some careful note of what is going, or not going, on with the Run Program feature. There are NO entries or errors in the log file of filebot. This means that uTorrent is NOT even trying to call filebot at the end of a download. If I use the same command in the Status Change entry it works perfectly all the time. So clearly either uTorrent is not calling the Run Program line at all..... OR Window 10 is interfering in some obscure way and preventing uTorrent from operating correctly. The program filebot is clearly NOT the problem as no log entry is made or any errors recorded. It's not being called! The command line I'm using is clearly not the problem as it works perfectly when used in the 'Change Status' command line and when run manually from the command prompt. It has worked fully on windows 10 up until recently! I'm tending to go down the Windows at fault path...... Anyone else got any ideas? Others are having the same problem but no answeres.......

n4ken Posted January 30, 2017 Author Report Posted January 30, 2017 Hi SergeyQA.... I did try your suggestion but as I expected it did not work. The filebot program call DOES work if it is run from the Change State of torrent so the path's etc are all fine. When I try running from the Run Program when torrent finishes section NO CALL to run filebot is made. All program logs show no activity so uTorrent is not even attempting to run filebot when a torrent finishes downloading. It works PERFECTLY when run from the Torrent changes state line. So either no call is being sent from uTorrent to filebot or windows is blocking the call to filebot? NOTHING will run from the "Run this program when torrent finishes" I have tried creating a log of the command line which should be sent from uTorrent when a torrent finishes so clearly NOTHING is being sent FROM uTorrent!!
SergeyQA Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Looks, like something happened with your environment - i use 3.4.9 build 43295 with Win8.1 and Win10 here and can not reproduce that case.
n4ken Posted January 31, 2017 Author Report Posted January 31, 2017 Hi again SergeyQA What a tease..... what may have happened to the environment setting? I'm using the default settings as far as I am aware. I've checked both system and user settings and can see no problem. Maybe I'm missing something that you can point me to. Thanks in advance.
n4ken Posted February 4, 2017 Author Report Posted February 4, 2017 I have been unable to find the cause or a solution to the problem...... which is very unusual for Windows !! So 'sledge hammer to crack a nut' time and go back to a fresh install back-up a few builds old. Problem cured for now so I'll have to stick with the early build rather than go for the later builds. Windows 10 has a lot of problems with many software titles so it's a matter of the software authors and/or Microsoft to catch up because this situation cannot be good for anyone. Keep up the great work on uTorrent. Regards
