uTorrent won't work

Whichever torrent I open on uTorrent, I always get this error message:

Is there anything I can do?

I'm not using a proxy. That's what I'm confused about.

Check your preferences for proxy settings and remove them then.

Okay, I did it. There's no change.

What is the proxy server type set to?

I set it to "none"

Try shutting down uT and restarting it.

If the "Proxy error" persists, you have something on your machine (or at your ISP) not playing nice.
