soundman192
To all the uTorrent gods out there. I have an extensive library of torrents 4600+. Yesterday when I came home from work, I saw all my torrents were in an error start with files in unknown status. In trying to "Start" one, it wants to re-check the torrent file. Given my sizes and numbers, I'm guessing utorrent will take almost 5 months to complete this effort. I know the files are all there and ok, I suspect my router had a brief brain fart, but the actual files all seem good. So does anyone know what I would have to change in the resume.dat file using bencode editor so I can bypass the re-check process and just startup and seed. Just the process of restarting normally takes 45 plus minutes just to re-register with the trackers. I'm not an expert but will to try anything to try and avoid a 5 month lag before my library is back online.
DreadWingKnight
You can't really do it with a resume.dat edit. This is one of the reasons we don't recommend saving to a nas from another computer.
soundman192
Yes, but at over 120TB of files a nas is really the only option I have, So if editing the resume.dat wont help, what options do I have? There has to be some way to signal the files are good, and just load them up vs re-checking each one. At best guess I'm going to process 30-40 per day. You do the math, it's 4.5 months or so. DreadWingKnight
Then run the client directly on the nas instead of running it on a separate computer.
soundman192
Ok, That is something I will certainly look into. But I will still have the same issue once I change the location of the files in resume.dat I will still need to get it to bypass the re-check. Can you suggest anyway that I can get past this issue? I do have all 4600+ .torrent files so I could reload but that certainly is not preferred. My current setup has run without issue for over 5 years, it was built to avoid issues with HDD failures. Now a bad disk is just popped out and replaced. NAS have over 36 drives so this not a minor issue to deal with. If you can't answer for some reason, can you point me in a direction that might be able to help get around this re-check requirement. Not something of the norm, but I truely know my files are good. Just need a way to tell uTorrent that this is the case and to just open the files for seeding. SM
DreadWingKnight
You basically can't get around the re-check, regardless of what client you try to use.
