I have to delete the contents of the old installation directory before I can install, this isn't the first time I've had to do this now. Tried going right back to 3.4.2 something - it won't install Was running ok earlier today. Now I can't run it or install it at all no matter what I try.. joshace Posted April 1, 2017 Report Share Posted April 1, 2017 I'm running Utorrent Ad-Free 3.5 build 43534 32-bit.. and the ads have returned again.. Webhelper (utorrentie.exe) is the ad generator, and I've seen it take up to 57% of the CPU and 800 megs of memory. That is outrageous. See attached snip. joshace Posted April 2, 2017 Report Share Posted April 2, 2017 The problem with the ads in the free-ad version is fixed again in 3.5 build 43534.. which is curious.. because it's the same build. The program didn't change, but the ads stopped popping up. I love utorrent.. and the charge to get the ad-free version is well worth it (when it works)... however, that ad engine makes the "free" version essentially "crippleware". There is no reason why those ads should take up 57% of my cpu and 700 megs of memory. It should be less than 1% of cpu.. and at most 1 meg of memory. CookieMonsta Posted April 11, 2017 Report Share Posted April 11, 2017 Hi - Just wanted to report a bug on latest uT version (Build 43580/x32 bit Windows). The functionality relating to marking files within a torrent to be downloaded/skipped seems to be completely broken in new release (has always worked well in the past). If I mark all files to 'don't download' and then re-enable some of them via the Priority menu it basically ignores my selections and downloads a different set of files to what was selected. I've tried stopping/starting torrent and this doesn't help. As per included screenshot - the 'priority' column is correctly showing what selections I made - however the %/Done/etc columns show that the 'skipped' files are being downloaded anyhow (and other files marked as 'normal' aren't being downloaded).
