I'm running Win 8.1 32b at 1920x1200, but this is a multi-boot PC with multiple version of Windows. Booting to Win 10 64-bit has the same problem (launches same instance of uT).

If uTorrent window width is less than ~1220 pixels, the search control begins to creep into the toolbar as the window is re-sized.  My uT window is ~1050 pixels wide.

Looks like a standard GUI behavior in Windows 10 (search position adjusts/moves to the center/right as well) . You can still see the toolbar when you pres the >> marking.

Maybe you using a skin effects it to behave a bit differently? Also make sure your exe properties->compatibility is set to use application high DPI.1.png

Where is 3.5.5_45798 ?

Instead of filling to topic with the same inane question for each new release, try posting the version yourself.

I've added a link to utorrent.exe that I've embedded an LAA flag into  (Large Address Aware Flag)

This should avoid some hangups caused by cache filling up , and better utilization of free RAM on x64 based systems ( possibly x86 32bit too). Rename the exe to utorrent.exe, unblock it and make it read-only if needed,  and replace yours...

Give it a try... :)

Latest stable with LAA flag - for using >2GB with x64 Windows - >uTorrent EXE with LAA Flag<

It is correct, utorrent.exe is indeed 32 bit, and always has been ... Allow it (or unblock in the exe properties). You can compare to the original posted here by mike, only a flag in the header is changed...

My (rebuilt) laptop is making it very, very difficult to use this. Unwanted, potentially dangerous, blocked... Allow, allow, keep, keep, allow... And blocked.

Keen to try it, but it's going to take some effort to persuade the laptop to let it through!

(I understand what you've supplied, at a basic level, and why my laptop doesn't like it.)

Why?

One trick I think works is- to zip it first and unzip it... Maybe I should have it zipped...

Edit: Replaced it with a zip file, just download it as is and extract the exe. Link is unchanged, I've also set the High DPI Scaling property to be controlled by the Application, not Windows. I think the fonts/text looks better this way...

Where do you get that files you post here early when utorrent.com/downloads page doesn't list them?

You should have seen links posted before or noticed that going to official download page you will be redirected to latest official stable Windows build:

utorrent.com/downloads/complete/track/stable/os/win

Latest beta you can get by replacing "stable" into "beta" in the same link: utorrent.com/downloads/complete/track/beta/os/win

Sometimes stable link gives you newer version number than beta, so just download both and compare them by opening the installation screen or right click and select file properties and then look at version number in the details tab.

There was also another link shared couple posts before, where you just replace version number in the link and then you can try your luck getting newer offline or online exe installation file.

The latest Beta (3.5.5 Beta Build 45770) has a bug in that makes it completely useless!

It is impossible to reset the filter text to the empty string in the filter edit control at the top. It keeps resetting itself to the phrase "Filter Torrents" which of course does not match anything and will not accept an empty string for no-filter.

If you try to tab out of the edit control or click out of it, so that it loses focus with no filter set, it will just put back the "Filter Torrents" phrase into the edit control, which as previously mentioned, will not match anything.

This make it impossible to turn filtering off.
