THANKS for this program... looks very good to me!!I've made some research in the forum but I haven't found much about this...Is it possible to get a column in the "Peers" section representing through a graphical coloured bar each peer's progress in the download??I know there's already a progress % for each peer which is more precise than a bar. However I think that for a quick overview a coloured bar would be much nicer...It also could be something optiona, meaning anyone could decide whether to show the column or not...If I get any other idea, I'll be right back... thanks!! Animorc Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 The problem with graphical progessbars is that they would use more of the CPU-resources, and that would kinda spoil the very idea of this program. Animorc Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 I would say that the program would still have to calculate and draw the progressbar, if it wasn't to go through one if-condition for every torrent, as often as the GUI updates. This would make the program use quite a bit of the CPU, even if you had it turned off.Since I'm not a programmer, I'm not totally sure if this is is correct, but writing dynamic webpages works like this anyway. zshare Posted May 4, 2006 Report Share Posted May 4, 2006 May be outdated, but I'd really like to see those peer/leecher graphic progress bars!!! Since you already have drawing routines for the general tab, which is showing one's own progress, as well as the swarm availability, it won't be hard to implement this bar for every peer. I'm sure that's only a few lines of code to add. If you are concerned for CPU usage, it is changing only when you get the HAVE message. Since this is not happening very often (unless the piece size is 32K, and you have hundreds of connections it will not be CPU-time-consuming. Of course, I assume it is always possible to turn off this category (just like relevance - my favorite .I tried to find some use for this feature to make this wish more valuable, but I couldn't - it just looks nice. Maybe you could find it usefull when the torrent is multi-file, and someone decided to not download the whole package - selective download. I'd like to see this as well when uploading but it shows nothing in that pane. I would like to have that "option" in the option section. I have the CPU power for that.
