Alto Rier Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Sorry if i'm asking a question that's already asked, but i couldn't find it here. Why is the maximum global connections set so low by default? what is the maximum and what issues will it cause if i overdo it? If i set more torrents to seed i can see it only seeds the maximum amount it is set to, will it occasionally switch to other torrents that are also set to seed or not? Kind of an unrelated question, how much of my up bandwidth do i need for everyday browsing, how much of the upload bandwith can i use?
DreadWingKnight Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Why do you think that having it high would be of any benefit. You end up splitting your connection so many ways that each individual peer connection becomes useless to both you and them.
Alto Rier Posted March 19, 2017 Author Report Posted March 19, 2017 Yes i understand, it's just that there is a lot of things i want to seed because i think they should be out there and stuff, so the right way i should do it is manually seed 5 different things every week or something similar, yes? EDIT: i was usually very happy to eventually find someone seeding even with 10kbps on torrents that i thought were dead so i don't think it's THAT useless?
DreadWingKnight Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Leave the per-torrent and upload slot numbers low if you MUST run a lot of torrents at once.
