joshace Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 This just began hours ago... I was running my ad-free version, and got a pop-up offering to upgrade my utorrent to ad-free for one day (which I already had). When I upgraded, it crashed and would not run. I re-installed the previous version, but now even though it SAYS it is ad-free, the ads are there (see attached picture). Also, I notice that Webhelper aka utorrentie.exe is running in my tasks again. How can I get my utorrent to be ad-free again?
Doel Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 I am in the same boat. Hope someone can tell us how to fix this?

Doel.. did this just start happening to you within the past couple of days? I don't mind the ads themselves so much.. but the background process that generates the ads (Webhelper aka Utorrentie.exe) is a massive hog for CPU and memory resources. Paying for the ad-free version is WELL worth it.. WHEN the ad-free version actually is ad-free. One thing that puzzles me is that I doubt those ads generate hardly any revenue at all. I know I never pay any attention to them. So why have them at all?
joshace Posted March 22, 2017 Author Report Posted March 22, 2017 Problem seems to be GONE! Utorrent automatically updated itself to version 3.5 build 43534 which is ad-free and not crashing. YAY.
