"Failed to post GUI message" error during startup

I'm using utorrent 3.5 build 45380.  when utorrent restarts, it doesn't update the GUI while it's loading torrents, which it used to do.  the program is non responsive, but I found the logger did continue to update, displaying many instances of the error "Failed to post GUI Update message: Not enough quota is available to process this command."  what is this error, and how can I resolve this?
