eddiestrike
Hi, I have set utorrent to have a max connections of 100, but NetBalancer says my network is using 3000 with utorrent running! It's causing my internet to completely bog down and fail to load webpages. If I close utorrent, my connections return to about 300. Why would utorrent use that many connections and not respect the 100 limit I set? Thank you.
DreadWingKnight
It honestly sounds like netbalancer's counting system is broken.

I'm getting side effects from having this many connections, it's why I downloaded netbalancer in the first place, to troubleshoot why my connection has been failing. It now makes sense, 3000+ connections will do that to a connection. :/
DreadWingKnight
The bulk of the problems come from mis-counting UDP streams as "connections" (they aren't) and router software and system firewalls that are poorly coded.

Also unless netbalancer is monitoring utorrent activity it will give you the wrong information.
eddiestrike
Just wanted to update my thread: I found the cause of this issue. A certain tracker was causing it, I deleted the torrents from that tracker and the issue resolved.
