jerryspringer
I use a t-mobile MDA (aka HTC Wizard) as my modem. This connection gives me 230kbps. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a better download rate, currently I'm only getting 1kB -5kB download. I have windows xp sp2 but have the firewall disabled, ofcourse the ports are not forwarded since there's no router.I have to admit that the torrent is pretty crumy since there's only 4(7) seeds to 22(67) peers but still thought I'd beable to pull 20kB. I have done the basics like keeping the upload rate at 80%. I am still kind of new to this so any tips would be very much appreciated.Forgot to mention that I patched the tcpip.sys to 50 alreadyAlso I only get the red dot, is there a way to get it to turn green since I'm directly connected through my modem? This is my 1st torrent so excuse the dumb questions thanks.
Firon
You don't get an external IP when using wireless, you're permanently NATed.
jerryspringer
Thanks for the reply, guess I'll just have to live with it.
Switeck
With slower wireless connections (sub megabit ones), having a high half-open connection rate is a BAD thing. So too are lots of connections. Is your upload rate at least 6 KB/sec...and sustainable at that speed? Firon
You may need to use lower connections and lower upload caps than normal with wireless.I also suggest you turn off DHT and IP resolving on the Peers tab.
Switeck
Also, due to the way you're permanently NATed...you might as well disable UPnP too.

Almost jumps around as much as my download rate.Firon wrote: You may need to use lower connections and lower upload caps than normal with wireless.I also suggest you turn off DHT and IP resolving on the Peers tab.I have disable DHT, UPnp and DHT network and DHT for new torrents in preferences earlier. Have just now disabled IP resolving but it is still the same. I used the speed guide to lower my settings to that of a 96kbps connection with a max upload of 7kB but still having the same result. I even have my bandwith priority set to high. Let me know if there's anything else I should disable or change in the advanced settings please. Anyway thanks for your guys help. Switeck
If it's not letting you sustain upload speeds higher than 4 KB/sec...setting it higher just makes things worse.Try setting upload speed to 3 KB/sec. Your top download speed possible (even assuming everything works) would be limited to 18 KB/sec, but that's alot better than you're getting. jerryspringer
ok I lowered it and it bumped up the d/l speed by 1kB only. I'm just going to play around with the settings and if I find something I'll post it. thanks again
