cardboardts Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 So I tried w/ a static IP and through my router set to my different ports and all were forwarded correctly. Everytime I tried the port checker it says that any port I enter is closed. I have recently reinstalled my OS (winxp) and recently got a new IP, adelphia. I now have connected my computer directly to the modem, which is a Terayon TJ715X, and still all the ports are showing as closed.I do not have any software firewall that I am aware of but I will post a SS of my process list JIC there is something I missed.http://img56.imageshack.us/my.php?image=process16xn.jpghttp://img301.imageshack.us/my.php?image=process24ap.jpgAny help would be aprechiated.Merged double post:I noticed that I had PG2 loaded in my processes when those screenshots were taken. I have since disabled the program and still I have all my ports closed?
Firon Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Do you have an anti-virus? Sometimes they come with firewall-like features.Could it be the Windows firewall? I don't see why it would, since µT is supposed to add an exception automatically, but you never know...
cardboardts Posted July 14, 2006 Author Report Posted July 14, 2006 Nope not windows firewall. No anti virus as ths is a new install of winxp. This also happens on 3 other computers, connected to router and plugged stright into the wall. I belive it is Adelphia Cable that is blocking access to ports for some reason. They are hinceforth dropped like a bad habbit.
Aftermath Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 I have the same problem sometime. When it occurs for me I have to change the port in uTorrent, then go change it on my router and wait a few minutes before it connects properly
Firon Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Well, all I can assume is that you're NOT forwarding ports properly, because Adelphia doesn't block ports.
cardboardts Posted July 14, 2006 Author Report Posted July 14, 2006 Adelphia may not "Block" ports, but this happens on 3 different computers and a 4th laptop that has never been connected to this network and had no problem before is not able to get an open port going Directly though the modem no firewall. I tested Utorrent on the computer prior to connecting to the adelphia line and it worked perfectly. My computer going directly to a modem on another isp (bellsouth) w/o changing ANYTHING, gives me a green light and my speeds are acceptable. Adelphia is doing something..............
Firon Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Hmm.If you do Start -> Run -> cmd /k ipconfigwhile connected to the Adelphia modem, what IP does it show?
