Mularki
Not a Windows update problem. After using utorrent be sure to close it down before re-starting windows. If you've not ticked startup in utorrent preferences then it will not start up next time.
NJHal
What worked for me was turning off automatically install updates. Options Preferences General Updates & Privacy uncheck the Automatically Install Updates check box
coolcarper1
what worked for me is untick the box for start when windows opens but also untick the boxes that tells utorrent to close to tray or minimize. if you don't do this it does not close properly and so when you start your computer your pc starts utorrent back up as it thinks it wasn't closed properly. unknownsoldierx
I have this problem, but I run UT in portable mode. The automatic updates and update to beta options are both checked, but greyed out. Yet, updates are still downloaded into the updates subfolder. uT will randomly decide it doesn't want to run, and instead wants to install. This will be because there is a new version and it wants to install it. The only fix is to manually replace utorrent.exe with the new version in \updates. Then it runs in portable mode again. This forces me to update when I don't want to. The other night, I had uTorrent shut down while I was reading about the new security flaws. I made sure that utorrent.exe was no longer running. A few hours later, I got a random UAC popup for uT. What would cause the portable version of uT to launch in the middle of a Windows session? Terryj
I've been reading this thread as I have a similar problem with utorrent starting on it's own. If this is a 'feature' of Win10 then why don't the other apps that are still open (or closed using the X) on shutdown/restart ever restart? michsene
When you shut down utorrent look at task manager and you will notice that utorrent takes about 10 seconds to completly terminate. Therefore you only have to wait about 15 seconds before shutting down the computer and utorrent will not start up on boot.
