Rootkits

I've found out that its now common for rootkits to be spreed on through torrents-and many of you reading this will have carried and passed them on unawares. There isn't much information on the web about getting rid of rootkits-apart from mirroring clean drives and having a second O/S to delete the deformed kernals dose anyone know of a good way of prevention?

Not installing new software? There's no real way to guarantee it, as commercial rootkits are tricky, and will bypass most protections.

Don't download crackz and warez through p2p or websites is about the best sollution I can give you.
