macoute
I'd actually thought that this tye of a problem was relegated to Win98 - seems not. After a system crash uTorrent loads up with nothing. All the torrents are there, the dat files are, etc.Utorrent wont load them - I have to go through and manually do them - a lot of fun for nearly 400 torrents.Any ideas?EDIT - oh, joy!Now when I manually add each torrent it's deleting the files or parts already downloaded! Ultima
Force recheck when you add... Are you using the same directory for auto-load and torrent storage?
Firon
9x systems tend to have this problem more (and other data corruption) because of FAT16/32 not being very good. Files often end up missing too.
macoute
I'm actually running WinXP with NTFS file systemForce recheck - still deletes partial or completed torrents - Randomly!I've had to manually add all my torrents - backup my entire partial and completed directories (over 60gig) and check each torrent as I go - 200 down only 300 to go.What I meant by my Win98 comment was this sort of thing used to happen all the time with programs back then - I haven't had anything remotely like it with WinXP - hell, even M$Office has been able to recover! But not utorrent :[

Firon
If forcing a re-check is marking data as incomplete, then the data might very well be damaged or incomplete... Either that, or you pointed it to the wrong folder.Still, it's bizarre, I've never actually lost my resume data. You can always backup resume.dat every once in a while. Lynnara
Heya, same thing happened to me just a little while ago. I'm running win2k... guess this isnt OS specific error. So far none of my files got deleted but i'm barely 1% through getting them all loaded again... grrrrrrr what a pain! Wondering why utorrent doesnt just load them up... all the torrent files are right there... but then i realized that all the configs of the torrents are gone too... like which files i skipped, which were on high/normal/low priority, which ones i had paused/stopped/seeding, etc.... and all my beautiful ratios.... :-(Also, the first time i opened utorrent after it ate my pc, the harddisk that all the files were on locked up... scared the heck out of me, i thought my harddisk crashed and lost 200+ gigs of stuff (not just torrents, over half of that is my work!)... looked at my event viewer and saw like 30+ disk errors. Well after closing the program, rebooting, and opening it again, stuff is working, no more errors or anything, just blank torrent screen and tons of torrents to reload.Considering this is a rather new version and all, and i'm not the only one this has happened to, i'd say we found a bug. As for backing up the resume.dat file, i was thinking that perhaps utorrent could do that once in a while? Then i saw that it *did* do that... but at the worst times. I could have had a backup, had it not gotten overwritten as soon as i reloaded the second time after the crash. Both resume.dat and resume.dat.old both are blank, have same timestamp, same size... grrr.Well anyway just thought some of this might help or something.
