TaviTeo
Malwarebytes flagged and blocked uTorrent traffic as being malware and I'd like to hear what is your opinion on this. My ISP is UPC Romania ( https://www.upc.ro/ ) , my uTorrent version is 3.5.3, build 44428 [32 bit] and I also have installed Bitdefender Total Security 2018 but it didn't picked up anything out of the ordinary (no VPNs, proxies, additional firewalls etc.). This is the actual log: Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 5/11/18 Protection Event Time: 12:26 AM Log File: c9d2ac08-5498-11e8-9b48-4437e6becb76.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.5.1.2522 Components Version: 1.0.365 Update Package Version: 1.0.5060 License: Trial -System Information- OS: Windows 10 (Build 16299.431) CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , , Blocked, [-1], [-1],0.0.0 -Website Data- Category: Malware Domain: IP Address: 128.127.109.15 Port: [60831] Type: Outbound File: C:\Users\lenovo\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe Additionally inbound and outbound connections to 128.127.109.133, 128.127.109.22 and 104.28.19.62 were also blocked. Let me know if you require more info and thanks in advance for your help! Edited 20 mins later: I don't have any Partner Offers, always opting-out on those, been using uTorrent for more than 10yrs now, know the drill on it, sorry for not mentioning it earlier. DreadWingKnight
Looks like the antivirus is blanket-blocking by IP address with no attempt to properly investigate the traffic. Kind of like what zonealarm and others did for clients listening on SMTP ports.
