What means "magnet" Name entry?

Sometimes when I click on a link on websites a new entry is created in utorrent starting with "magnet .....".

Even after a while it dos not turn into a full "usual" file/torrent name.

What does that mean?

Is there a chance of download such "magnet (12355ad1235...)"  files?

Depending on the magnets age/availability, it can take as little as 1 second to several seconds/minutes/hours/days for the torrent file's correct name and contents to appear.

You can OK the dialog box before the metadata has download, but you won't be able to select/deselect any of the torrents contents at that point.

If it's a private site where you got the magnet, then it's possible that certain torrent client builds may not be allowed and you could be waiting forever. If it's a public torrent, then the torrent could simply be dead.

I've had magnets appear dead during UK daytime, but suddenly come alive during the early hours of night...

Ok, thank you.

That means "normally" a magnet link/entry should automatically turn into a full download (at least after a while).

Correct?

Assume I exit uTorrent with existing, unresolved magnets entries and restart uTorrent later.

Do such magnet entries survive these exit+restarts or does uTorrent sort them out at startup?

Correct?

Assuming the torrent becomes available, yes.

If you OK the dialog box and magnet (xxxxxxx...xxxxxx) appears in uTorrent's upper pane list, yes.
