Hey people this is my first post.....

I come to uTorrent searching an alternative to Azureus. I like Azureus but is too "heavy", the Java thing and its has the 100% cpu bug whe running 3D apps, this 3 "things" make me to search an alternative and uTorrent is excelent, is major pro feat is it's made in C++... In fact is very Azureus like but the connectable issue is the only problem i have and makes me to continue using Azureus yet.

I made post searchs but i try to explain in my limited english the "problem"... (i have poor knowledge of netting)

Some torrents sites are members (registered) users sites and have a ratio system with the connectable damm thing.

So, i have a dynamic ip, mi host name change in every new connection i made so i have to update this info in Azureus to be connectable, i do with Azureus like this screencaps...

I use this web site to "obtain" mi correct host name...

Then i put this host name in Azureus here...

And i connectable for the rest of my session as long i not log off the connection of course.

Here is the question: How do this in uTorrent?

The uTorr config screen only allow ip numbers: 111.111.111.111 this way..i want to do in Azureus way so please tell how...

If i can make uTorrent connectable, i can say goodbye to Azureus...

Please feedback...

Simply get a router, that plugs into your modem. Set a static IP on your workstation, to 192.168.x.x where .x.x represent the routers address assignments. For example, linksys routers use the starting address of 192.168.1.100 for computers. You would set an address of 192.168.1.50 and then forward the port for your torrent client, to that IP address in the routers advanced settings. Look for a heading in the router config, that says something like applications and gaming. You will never again have to set the IP address in any of the torrent clients you choose to use. You will want to kill windows firewall also, since that sounds like the problem all along. If you do not currently have a router, then in reality you should already be connectable automatically.

I think what he needs is the ip version of his host.

If your host name has some digits like 111.111.111, try those. It might work. Like my host name has the IP address first, then a bunch of letters, numbers and words mixed in.

From your screenshot, it looks like yours has:

host. *something.something*. If it doesnt have an IP address in there, find a way to see it ip form.
