SimSalaBim Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 HiI have this little problem with Utorrent 1.6. All is set ok. Port is forwarded ok. I tried it with Azureus and got the Green faces and NAT test was ok. But with Utorrent I get the error on the port test and it says that I am not connectable. What could be the issue?
Ultima Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 What firewall are you using? Are you 100% sure you forwarded properly, and that Azureus wasn't using UPnP to open the port for a failed manual port forward?
SimSalaBim Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 I am using Outpost firewall and the port is forwarded ok. And the Az was set manually to the same port as I am using with Utorrent. Utorrent is also alowed in the firewall settings.
Ultima Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I'm hoping you don't have both Azureus and µTorrent open when testing. Anyway, you may have set the port in Azureus, but that doesn't mean UPnP is disabled in it. This might sound drastic, but try uninstalling your firewall. If it helps, you didn't configure your firewall properly. If it doesn't help, enable Windows Firewall and connect directly to your modem (bypassing the router). If that helps, then you didn't forward properly.
SimSalaBim Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 Too drastic. Thanx anyway. It's not working.
Ultima Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Yeah it's not working, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's µTorrent's fault. Of course, you'll never figure it out if you don't try like I said. Oh well.
SimSalaBim Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 OOpppss. I just noticed now that I had the Upnp enabled in Azureus after all. I disabled the Upnp and uninstalled Azureus. But It's the same thing. What is wrong? Yeah I know it's not the Utorrents fault. I used it like some months ago with a green light.
Firon Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 If you have a firewall, it most likely will not let you use the same port for more than one program.
Ultima Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 @SimSalaBim: Did you set a static IP on your computer?
SimSalaBim Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 @Ultima. I don't know bro. I don't think I have a static IP. The weird thing is if I enable Upnp port mapping I am connectable and I get the green light. Why is that?
Ultima Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 lol that's the ticket then. Makes it easier for yourself, and that's exactly what UPnP's for
