Fred_Flintstone
For torrents that have been successfully downloaded and are seeding back on a private tracker without PEX/DHT... I'd like to understand a couple specifics as to how trackers transmit the seeder list to a client every 30 minute announce interval. Does a tracker send a full seeder list to a client the very first time and subsequent times it only transmits a list of seeders that have been added/removed? ...or does it transmit the full seeder list each announce interval? How it's handled would certainly be far more pronounced for a torrent with 5000 seeders vs 5 seeders. Also, I've seen a few torrent clients that have a selectable option to disconnect from fellow seeders when seeding. Perhaps there's a tiny chance that influences the list the tracker transmits? Neither. On the announce cycle, a small randomized list of both peers and seeds is sent. Some tracker software is coded to not send seeds in the list when the requesting client is a seed.
