bluehue
I've been stuck at 98.3% on a certain torrent for days. All it does is upload from it. Under peers, it says "43 (138)". It has finished all the other downloads I selected. Why won't it finish this one?I've tried pausing and starting as well as force connect but can never seem to get it to download the last protion of the file.Any suggestions? 1c3d0g
What does it say under seeds (the column prior to peers)? Maybe that torrent doesn't have a seed left...and the peers you are uploading to don't have the particular pieces you're missing... :?
bluehue
I've been downloading 2 of the same file with different torrent names. One's stuck at 97.4% and the other at 98.3% with seeds 2(6) and 2(498) respectively. Does that mean there are 2 seeds uploading and 6 that aren't?Sorry to sound like an idiot. I'm new to the torrent game. I mostly use DC++.Thanks for your help
chaosblade
2(6) would mean you are connected to 2 seeds out of the possible 6 on that torrent.
winMX_67
That means that there are two uploading and 6 in the swarm that arent connected. 2(486) seems kind of odd.
1c3d0g
That means that there are two uploading and 6 in the swarm that arent connected. 2(486) seems kind of odd.I concur. He should be able to connect to more peers...but still, he's connecting to 2 seeds, so he should be getting the last pieces of the torrent. Maybe your IP was/is banned now? :? dajojo88
If you are downloading a TV show, DVD, or new CD from a public tracker, there is a chance that you have been tricked into downloading a bogus file. What is does is report false stats to the trackers/peers and trick users into downloading the majority of the file and then stopping. This renders the file useless (generally a fake file anyways) and wastes the users' time trying to download the bogus files. If you want to learn more, search for bittorrent on google news, i'm sure you can find a few articles. If you think this may be what happened, reply and let us know, otheriwse, tell us if it happens with any other files.
bluehue
still no progress on either of the files. both say that they are connected to two seeds a piece, but all it does is upload. they are nip/tuck s3e4, so maybe they are fake ones. i'll let them do their thing for a few more days to see what happens.thanks again for all your help. dajojo88
Those are most likely fakes. I suggest finding a new tracker to download from. Maybe a private tracker that offers TV shows; otherwise, try to find a new relase of the file you want on a public tracker.
triggernum5
When I used to use bitspirit I would occassionally run into this because of a corrupt file..For example.. When downloading a mulipart rar torrent, all but 1 file had been complete for a long time.. Upload/Download traffic actually occurred, but downloaded data simply seemed to disappear..Rechecking the torrent did nothing.. Deleting the incomplete file, redownloaded it at a nice speed, and the torrents always completed..Granted that was bitspirit, but who knows what info might help..
