tjfs
I am constantly amazed by how good (and how small!) uTorrent is.Having said that, I tried out the Hibernate when downloads complete option last night and the machine stayed on for 7 hours after the downloads finished, seeding away. I am not sure why - the only thing I can think of is that the torrent was force started [F]. Still, at least I helped some other people get the files ;-) And yes, the machine hibernates normally every time you ask it to outside uTorrent.I do have the "Prevent system from going on standby" option checked.. presumably this is the right thing to do as I don't want it to go on standby while it's downloading but perhaps this conflicts with the new Hibernate option?Tim
Jabberwocky
I have the same problem! Also using µTorrent v 1.6 b 474 and Win XP SP2 and my PC wont go to Hibernate. Shutdown works well but if I activate "Hibernate when Downloads Complete/Everthing Completes" instead I get "Hibernating computer... FAILED" in Logger. Hibernate is activated in Windows and unchecking "Prevent stand-by..." in µTorrent-Preferences dont help. How can I get Auto Hibernate to work in µTorrent? Jabberwocky
I tried µTorrent 1.6 RC1 Beta Build 467 today but I also get the "Hibernating computer... FAILED" message in Logger... Why?
DreadWingKnight
The current build is 474.We don't support 467.If hibernation failed, something blocked it.
Jabberwocky
> We don't support 467.Ok, sorry.I switched back to biult 474.> If hibernation failed, something blocked it.Hmm, I don't run any other programs except yTorrent. No Firewall, no Antivir. I can use the "Shutdown when..." Option but Hibernate or Standy dont work. I use Hibernate in Windows very often without problems so i dont understand why µT. cant use it too. What thing could block Hibernate or Standby for µTorrent?"Hibernating computer... FAILED""Stand-by computer... FAILED""Shutdown computer... OK"
Switeck
Probably µTorrent re-writing its own settings file every 'x' minutes regardless of activity?
Jabberwocky
When I choose "Hibernate when everything completes" and the downloads are completed I always get the little window "µTorrent Automatic Shutdown" and the 25 sec countdown is running to 0. Then the window closes itself but nothing happens just the "Hibernating computer... FAILED" message appears in µTorrent-Logger?!If I now go to Shutdown Options -> Auto Shutdown is set back to "Disabled" and if I check "Hibernate when everything completes" again its the same procedure... ..."Hibernating computer... FAILED".But if I choose "Shutdown when everything completes" the little windows appears, the countdown is running and after the 25 sec µTorrent is shutting down the computer... That's strange...EDIT: I closed µTorrent, deleted all files in *\Application Data\uTorrent, restarted µT. and tried hibernating again... -> "Hibernating computer... FAILED"
