geeky27
I have been trying to share a directory to a friend using "file->create new torrent" but for some reason it's not working. I am using public trackers, for instance this one udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337/announce . I did a bit of research and found out that maybe it's because my port is not open/forwarded. I have access to the internet via mobile hotspot, so i guess I can't forward the port being used by uTorrent . Also, I am able to seed other torrents that I have downloaded from the internet, for instance I was able to seed a Linux Distribution while it was being downloaded and the seeding continued as well after the download was completed. So, as stated, is an open port necessary for creating and sharing my own torrents? But at the same time how am I able to seed the torrents that I have downloaded from the internet? rafi
Yes and no, P2P will be difficult (when DHT is disabled) , but if you enable DHT - it can help as a workaround .
