brijamgel Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Hello,After trying to forward many random ports, I still am unable to get green light connection status. I am using uTorrent 1.6. Router is Netgear WGR614 v6. I have established static IP address and have followed port forwarding instructions for this router from wxw.portforward.com. I am not sure whether my ISP throttles bandwidth, although I would not be at all surprised. It is a relatively small company in the Caribbean called Caribserve. I am not sure but don't think they are owned by one of the larger providers. Maybe they buy or lease bandwidth somehow from one of these ISPs that throttle? Any other avenues or ideas for me to try? Thanks for your help.
brijamgel Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Posted July 31, 2006 Sorry... should have added that I have disabled Firewall in Windows XP and Windows OneCare Live. Also, I use Symantec AntiVirus, so I unloaded that service also. As far as I am aware there are no other firewalls. Our ISP uses Satellite DSL in case that makes any difference.
Firon Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 With satellite internet, you don't get a public IP, so you're permanently NATed.
