forkspoon Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 With the update to 1.6 I have noticed that my torrents are continuing to seed even with the seed goal of 100% being set in the preferences. I'll post a screencap as soon as possible.Anyone else experiencing this?
DreadWingKnight Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Are you telling it to stop them after reaching the seeding goal (with the alternate speed option)?
forkspoon Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 Yes, my configuration carried forward with the update just fine as far as I can tell, and it was working fine prior to said update. It appears to have stopped seeding one of my latest torrents now that i've actually looked at the settings to confirm them.. strange. We'll keep an eye on this one.
forkspoon Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 Ok, it has happened again causing me to almost double-seed a file. I'd consider this a bug.
DreadWingKnight Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Screenshot your Preferences -> QueueingI'm betting it's user error.
forkspoon Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 As insulting as that insinuation may be, here you go.My posts CLEARLY state that I have checked preferences and last night there was a torrent that stopped at a 1.0 ratio.
DreadWingKnight Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 And yet I have the same settings and it doesn't do that. Was the torrent set to force start for any prolonged periods?Have you tried clearing your settings (deleting settings.dat and .dat.old from %appdata%\uTorrent) and re-configuring?
forkspoon Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 Forcing start will ignore seed goals? I may have forced it to start to override the max number of downloads, but there wasn't an [F] beside the torrent name this morning -- computer did restart last night and got the old "resume.dat corrupt/missing" dialogue when I logged back in.I had no idea that forcing a torrent caused it to ignore seed goals -- I guess that's a big ol' RTFM in my general direction on that front.Perhaps a "Do not ignore seed goal when forced" option in the Queueing prefs would come in handy?
Ultima Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Indeed, forcing does ignore seeding goals. I do believe such an option has been requested already, so you're not the only one who thinks it might be handy
GanetMarV Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I had the same issue but I checked and I did not forced the torrent. And it was a fresh installation.I made some tests and I realize that, when I changed the settings (seeding ones), it did not change te behavior right away. I had to restart µtorrent for the settings to become effective.
Ultima Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 You only have to stop and start the torrent.
Overfiend Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 i've got the same problem. However it has only appeared after i formated hard drive and fresh installed windows. Before this it stopped seeding fine. I've come home from work to find some of the torrents seeded back to 400%.Yep fresh install of windows today and the problem persists.
