zshare
I tried with several torrents, and always found that the value used for filling the pre-allocated files is 0. Is this initial value guaranted (uT is explicitly using it), or is it left to OS to decide (Win98, ME, 2K may be using some other value, I don't know...)? It is quite irrelevant for program to run, but still would like to know if I can rely on this. Thanks, devs.
silverfire
I think so, and why do you think you need to know?
Firon
null bytes, though on NT-based systems it doesn't seem to write the bytes, it just allocates the space in the MFT.
Rechteck
[useless quoting removed by moderator]It still takes an awful long time on a external NTFS disk attached with USB1.0.
Firon
Well, perhaps it does null the entire file then.
