suzuki18
I have my firewall configure properly to let utorrent use the port that it want and I am getting good speed too. The only thing that irritated about is it will run fast for a while then it suddenly lost all its peers and the speed will go down and then it will automatically regain its peers which will temporarily slow my download down. I would like to know what cause this problem and how to fix it.
Ultima
Do you have Protocol Encryption enabled?
Switeck
Your computer is almost certainly overloading.Either you have bad hardware or software...or at least 1 µTorrent setting value is set too high....or both.
suzuki18
How do I know if I have protocol encryption on? I turn off the windows firewall. I didn't change any advance settings in utorrent 1.6 except (half-open from 8 to 500, only 1 download at a time, limit global upload to 10KB). I have also set my router firewall to allow the port that utorrent need to use.
DreadWingKnight
half-open from 8 to 500Change this back.
Switeck
Yes, do what DreadWingKnight said.
suzuki18
But I have patch it back to unlimited though so it shouldn't be a problem and if I change it back it will be slow.
Ultima
Firstly, there is no "unlimited" for TCPIP.sys. Secondly, you should not be needing that many halfopen connections.
Switeck
Patching TCPIP.sys over 500 half-open connections may overcome Win XP's limitations....but there are other things such as software firewalls, hardware routers, even flakey NIC cards that "will not like" high half-open rates. Your description of the problem sounds exactly like what I'd expect them to do under those circumstances.
suzuki18
I have turn off windows firewall which is the only software firewall that I have and I have port forward the require port in my router even utorrent said that it is able to fully access it by showing green. I have never have this problem until recently. I don't know if it is utorrent 1.6 is having problem or not though. I think utorrent 1.5 is fine, but I am not sure.
