frostee
When trying to download, my speed stops to zero. When I have a look at the bottom of UTorrent, I can see how many peers have what I'm trying to get and their percentage. There is someone with 100% but we can't get anything from them. The only thing that is different to the other peers is they have 1/0 in the Reqs column. What are Reqs ???? (If you haven't guessed already...I'm fairly new to all of this).
Ultima
The number on the left of the Reqs column is how many pieces you've requested from the peer, and the number on the right is how many the peer has requested from you.
frostee
Thanks for the explanation Ultima. If there is a peer showing with 100%, why is it that we can't get anything from them ?

Milanlaza
That explains much...But there are some peers which requested some pieces from me but there are no pieces that i've requested from him.How can i send requests or anything so i can get what i need from them??? Thx
Ultima
You let µTorrent handle the requesting. You shouldn't and can't force µTorrent to request pieces from specific peers.
thelittlefire
I thought Reqs was Blocks not Pieces.

kkh3049
Is it possible to stop requesting from someone and request from someone else?
DreadWingKnight
Not forcibly because micromanaging the operation of a torrent causes more problems than it solves.
kkh3049
dang. I'm downloading like 1.2 kb/s from like 2 people total.
Switeck
And how's your upload doing at the same time?
wi1d6i11
ref thelittlefire amplify...Torrents are composed of pieces which are composed of blocks. There are 8 - 16 -64 - 128 - 256 blocks to the piece (depending on the torrent). Thus when torrents are downloaded by downloading blocks... but those blocks eventually make a piece and the pieces eventually compose the file(s) of the torrent. Thus, you could say that you are downloading pieces or blocks since you are ultimately downloading files a piece at a time... but downloading the pieces a block at a time! In the case of reqs the number stands for blocks.
DreadWingKnight
not compressed, but yes, subdivided.
