Invy
I remember someone brought up the question a while back on how to carry the uTorrent settings over to another machine. I know that you have to copy the uTorrent folder located in the application data, but the problem is I want to transfer my settings to another computer which doesn't have the same user account name. I've carried over my settings before but that didn't involve editing anything since it was going to the same account username.. So that's where the editing of the dat files comes into play. I know you need a hex editor and the basic idea is to just change the username so that it matches the name of the account you want to put it on. The problem is I don't know exactly how.I'm a pretty advanced computer user I so I should catch on to this really quick. Recommendations of a free and easy hex editor, and how to do this would be appreciated.
Firon
Not settings.dat, resume.dat.And I don't think it's necessary with 1.6 anymore.
Invy
Hmm so I should be able to just copy the appdata utorrent folder to the new location and everything should be fine? What happens with the directory that it loads for finished (seeding) torrent jobs? Do I have to put those torrents in the same path?
Firon
For the first, yes. For the finished torrents (if you specified another folder), that must be the same path, I believe.
