Cobras
I am currently using Motorolla SBG 900 (cable wirelss router).OS: WinXP Pro SP2.The set up for the firewell filter (for motorlla router) is as follows;Port ID: uTorrentEnable: tickedAllowe Protocol: UDP, TCP. or UDP/TCP (I tried three conditions)Port Range: 64284: 64284Protocol number: 0Allow Inbount: tickedAllow Outbound: tickedUnder this condition, uTorrent refused to download and upload. When I checked the port: Port 64284 (TCP) is listning. But when I select firewall policy as "None", I have no problem with dl or ul with uTorrent. The problem occurs only when firewell is set as above. Plese advise me how to fix this problem.TIA. Cobras
Ultima
What does µTorrent's port checker say?
Cobras
I am not computer savvy. Under Netstat -a, protocol: TCP, State was"Listening".This is all what I can tell you.Cobras
Switeck
The µTorrent port is its incoming port -- it tries to use ALL the outgoing ephmeral ports (from about 1000-5000).
Ultima
In µTorrent, press Ctrl+G. There's a port checker at the bottom -- click the button.

Port 64284 does not appear to be openAs mentioned earlier, run/cmd/netstat-a indicates the port is listening.Plesae adivse me how to ensure opening the prot 64284.Thank you.Cobras
Cobras
I want to repeat again. The port 64284 is listening when checked with netstat. But Motorolla router firewall blocks all ports except for those on filters. This is what I set filter for uTorrent:Port ID: uTorrentEnable: tickedAllowe Protocol: UDP, TCP. or UDP/TCP (I tried three conditions)Port Range: 64284: 64284Protocol number: 0Allow Inbount: tickedAllow Outbound: tickedIt appears that the above setting was not enough opening the port 64284. Could your please advise me what parameter I should change? TIA. Cobras

Ultima
Oh. It's a modem+router combo. And it's a SurfBoard -- something I've never had success in trying to help people troubleshoot. And um, listening is not the same as established in netstat, the former not necessarily meaning anything is getting through to the listening process. You've followed this guide already? Cobras
Yes. It is surfboard. When checked at Motorolla website, the SBG 900 was lilsted to be compatible.I even installed Bitcomet and tried to unblock its port. No success yet.I like Motorolla SGB 900. We tried D-link router which causes a lot of problems in the past. So far, we did not have any problem with Motorolla router so far. Unfortunately, there is a problem with unblocking some ports.I decided not to secure the router. Thanks for your time and effort. Cobras
