kny3twalker
Well I have read the guides(FAQs) and done some searching. But the guides and search results do not seem to pertain to the Official Bit Torrent Client. I am a Demonoid member as well as a member of a few other torrent indexing sites, so I am not a complete newb. I currently have about 200 torrents in BitTorrent; I do not have the original .torrent files; and I really need the scheduling as well as ip blocking features of muTorrent. I have further looked in my imcomplete bit torrent folders used by Bit Torrent, and I am unable to locate any file extensions which do not belong(or need to be changed). What options do I have as far as moving the torrents from Bit Torrent to muTorrent? Thanks
DreadWingKnight
http://utorrent.com/migration_guide.phpIf you had read the guide properly you would know the answer is "SKIP THE RENAMING STEP"
kny3twalker
Funny enough, I found the answer after reading 15 or so pages. And the answer I found came from you dreadwingknight. 2006-06-28 10:18:35 DreadWingKnight Got threadlock? Re: Migrating downloads from official bittorrent client to utorrent Tell uT to save over the existing downloads (Without starting the torrents). Force Re-checks to get close.Thank you for the reply, but I already read the FAQs as I said in my original post.I do have one more question now though. How can I get my old .torrent files from the Official Bit Torrent Client without redownloading all the .torrents again? Ultima
I'm not familiar with BitTorrent, but maybe you can try looking around in its Program Files directory, or maybe it created a directory in %appdata% to store the files?
kny3twalker
Bit Torrent has a torrent folder in C:\Docs and Settings\computer's name\application data\bit torrent\data orrents, but its just a bunch of crap in there. It appears Bit Torrent modifies the .torrent files and renames them. I checked the C:\program folder as well. Nothing valuable in there either. I was hoping there would be some sort of tool to exact the .torrents which are still in Bit Torrent. I will say though it is by far the biggest POS. I am really glad to get to moved to muTorrent. I only lost one partial download during the transferring of clients so far. When I open one of the files with notepad from the torrent folder, it looks like this:(dp1S'is_auto_update'p2I00sS'finishtime'p3F849.9710292788609sS'window_shown'p4I00sS'destination_path'p5VC:\Documents and Settings\MYCOMPUTER'SNAME\Desktop\Torrent Namep6sS'window_iconized'p7I00sS'working_path'p8g6sS'priority'p9S'high'p10sS'policy'p11S'auto'p12sS'window_tab'p13I0sS'window_geometry'p14S'399x431+305+173'p15sS'hidden'p16I00sS'rerequest_interval'p17I7200sS'details_shown'p18I01sS'window_maximized'p19I00s.What the F... is that? ICleolion
The one thing i learned very early on in my bittorrent lifetime was to download the torrent files to your hdd. Another thing you should know is not to mention warez here so please edit/delete your last post.
