lipps
Hello all,Well i've been busting my skull and been over the guides and fourms several times and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm going to post all my specs and info, but basically I've changed the Firmware on the router to the HyperWRT and forwarded the port correctly (the port checker says it's open and accepting connections) AND I've correctly set up a static IP. I'm sill getting the Yellow Triangle that goes to the Red Circle and while i'm still able to down/upload, it's pissing me off.ISP: Comcast Cable InternetSpeeds: I pay for 8megs down a month and if I recall they said i get 768K up, but i have it set at 640 just to be sure and the speed tests are between 600-700 for upload and all over the place for download, but I used 6000kbps for the optimizer program.O.S.: Windows XP Pro SP2Firmware: I have a Linksys WUSB54G USB Wireless Adapter with factory firmware (only version out)Firewall: Just using the one in the Linksys WRT54G router, no software firewalls to my knowledge.Port Forward: Yes, I've done this 1,000 times and uTorrent even says the port is forwarded correctly.Like I said I have comcast cable internet and I'm not sure if they purposely block P2P traffic. That's all I can think of, let me know if anyone can offer some words of wisdom! Thanks!
Ultima
Nope, Comcast doesn't block. What version of the router firmware are you using, DD-WRT or Thibor's?
lipps
I was using DD-WRT, but I read the FAQ again and it said it wasn't reccommended, so I switched over to Thibor and yes I did reset to factory settings and erased the NVRAM after I changed firmwares.EDIT: Oh and i'm using UPnP as well and it appears to be working, uTorrent shows up in the list in the router's menu and I forwarded the port manually. Ultima
And µTorrent still says the same? What modem are you using?
lipps
My modem is the one that Comcast gave to me, funny thing is that uTorrent works fine on my laptop, I get the Network OK sign there, but on my Desktop it won't give me the green, it keeps going to red. DarkOwnage_
Sounds more of a software issue then a hardware one if the laptop is getting an OK but the desktop isn't. Are you using any type of firewall(Zone Alarm, Bit Defender, Norton, McaFee....)? If so try killing the process of it and then try running uTorrent. lipps
As far as i know I don't have any software firewalls running, the only one i could think of would be norton. I'll give that a try and see if it doesn't work.

Switeck
Norton's been traced as the source of many of µTorrent's problems.
lipps
haha i just have Norton Systemworks, which as far as i can tell doesn't come with any sort of firewall built into it
Ultima
What about the worm protection that comes with the antivirus?
sooti
what ports have you tried? make sure the sp2 firewall is forwording the port to your laptop, i know when i was on wifi with my family i had to forword the sp2 firewall to my computer name and that was the only way to make it work decintly, try checking the router settings, maybe you didn't choose the same port..
