Downloading utorrent - "Trying to run utorrent from temp directory"

I am getting this message when attempting to D/L utorrent...

"You are trying to run utorrent from the temporary directory in Windows. This is probably not what you want to do."

I was able to D/L, but when I try to open a torrent, I get an error pop-up. Obviously, utorrent is running from the temporary directory and I have no idea why. Help!!!!!

Please advise!

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Ultima!

I do have it installed and saved to the desktop. I select the program and the utorrent interface appears.

It's when I select to run a torrent, I get the following pop-up...

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WCV77S5C\(TORRENT NAME) Invalid menu handle

I can't get the torrent to load to utorrent. For some reason, it seems that utorrent is trying to run from this location. I not sure if it could be my Norton Internet Security settings or what? The other torrent

client I previously used had no problems retrieving the torrents I selected to D/L.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks again Ultima for you guidance!

uTorrent is up and running now.

Turns out that I needed to edit file type and association for.torrent extension. My previous client was still the default for that extension. I don't understand why I needed to do it, because when I installed uTorrent, I selected "Yes" to make uTorrent my default client. Well...anyhow, all is good.

Thank you for your time and efforts!
