customwoody
I am getting this message when attempting to D/L utorrent..."You are trying to run utorrent from the temporary directory in Windows. This is probably not what you want to do."I was able to D/L, but when I try to open a torrent, I get an error pop-up. Obviously, utorrent is running from the temporary directory and I have no idea why. Help!!!!!Please advise! Thanks!
Ultima
Save utorrent.exe to the desktop and run from there then? Or if you don't know how to do that, use the installer instead...
customwoody
Thanks for the reply Ultima!I do have it installed and saved to the desktop. I select the program and the utorrent interface appears. It's when I select to run a torrent, I get the following pop-up...C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WCV77S5C\(TORRENT NAME) Invalid menu handleI can't get the torrent to load to utorrent. For some reason, it seems that utorrent is trying to run from this location. I not sure if it could be my Norton Internet Security settings or what? The other torrentclient I previously used had no problems retrieving the torrents I selected to D/L.Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. customwoody
Thanks again Ultima for you guidance!uTorrent is up and running now.Turns out that I needed to edit file type and association for.torrent extension. My previous client was still the default for that extension. I don't understand why I needed to do it, because when I installed uTorrent, I selected "Yes" to make uTorrent my default client. Well...anyhow, all is good.Thank you for your time and efforts!
