PhantomTroc
I recentely switched over from BitLord to uTorrent since BitLord is banned on many trackers and have having trouble now. I am on a school network without my own router or firewall. I only use the software Windows XP Firewall (SP2). uTorrent added itself to the exceptions and I also added the port I was using with BitLord (49151) to the exceptions as TCP and UDP. In uTorrent I set my port to the same of course. I tried with both UPnP port mapped enabled and disabled to no avail. However, in the log, I see this error:"[14:33:37] Unable to map UPnP Port."I tried BitLord to make sure I didn't mess something up and it still works fine.I watched the log with "Log Peer Traffic" enabled and it seems to try to connect to about 10 peers or so then immediately drop them. Here is an example of what happens over and over again.[14:50:55] 88.218.26.127 : Connecting: port 59876[14:50:55] 219.133.78.226 : Connecting: port 16881[14:50:55] 64.180.254.17 : Connecting: port 35341[14:50:55] 64.42.206.201 : Connecting: port 15588[14:50:55] 155.239.64.160 : Connecting: port 64651[14:51:03] 155.239.64.160 : Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)[14:51:03] 64.42.206.201 : Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)[14:51:03] 64.180.254.17 : Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)[14:51:03] 88.218.26.127 : Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)[14:51:03] 219.133.78.226 : Disconnect: Peer error: offline (timed out)uTorrent shows the little Yellow exclamation point at the bottom. I never saw it any other color. When I choose to check if the port is forwarded properly it always fails. I hope someone can give some suggestions. I haven't found any similar posts and I was using BitLord which worked just fine.[EDIT] Forgot to mention and I connect to trackers just fine and the peer lists and seeders come through. Ultima
Maybe it's because Bit(Comet|Lord) have NAT traversal... you're not going to get very far if the ports can't be forwarded to you.
PhantomTroc
Is there a way to enable NAT or any way around it? I know when I use BitLord, only a few peers are connected through NAT traversal, but I don't really fully understand how it works anyway. I really like the uTorrent interface and would prefer to use it, but for now I am back to BitLord.
Ultima
Unfortunately, there is no NAT traversal in µTorrent, so there's likely no way around it with µTorrent.
