WebUI v0.315

Very nice app. Im testing it at the moment. Thanks for the creators. However, it would be just *AWESOME* if you could make some kind of lite-version of it for PDA's, PSP's, mobile phones, and so on. It could look like anything if it would just work and fit the screen of these small devices. You could actually make some kind of switcher between the normal and lite-skin.

@ciarals: If you had read the readme properly you'd have seen that the webui.zip needs to go right next to the settings.dat file which by default is located in %appdata%\utorrent

I'm having all sorts of problems. When I goto 127.0.0.1 or from another computer (still on my lan to 192.168.1.101) it asks for my pw, and i get just a blank page, in Firefox, IE6 and IE7.

If I goto http://ip:utport/gui/?list=1 I get gibberish

{"":"","label": [ ] ,"torrents": [ ["D0A65690B2B37E52FEDF2FA45093BEBDD90EF2AA",201,"100 Greatest Dance Hits of the 90s",633601199,191,125452288,4161536,33,10721,9953,55568,"",2,25,2,6,187508,4,512343215], ["22E39281C03B6BECE385A64DF254FFEC22D9FA29",201,"100 Greatest Rock Songs of the 90s",652580191,350,236027904,45629440,193,812,2719,193677,"",1,314,14,14,941507,3,424154463], ["C1825B4CB65453BD3D02C04E34301C1B0B14255B",201,"Best Of The 80s [6CD Box Set] [inc Covers]",601469802,67,40566784,4177920,102,6206,22193,26507,"",2,105,14,15,943547,1,561165162], ["7C53192A210B55BD23C5ED58753FDB29366A4FEF",201,"[ultimate 90's] - 1990",1429526931,193,275955712,21020672,76,1266,57677,18793,"",5,44,6,18,450103,2,1153571219]] ,"torrentc": "1383036306"} Those are my torrents, but that's all i see.

If i do ?action=getsettings I get even more gibberish that resembles the same up there, but it's obvious they are settings. It's obviously my utorrent client, so what should I change? i've change ports and get the same thing...any thoughts?

Hi

I'm trying to get you application to be as 'idiot proof' as possible because I have multiple people accessing my torrent box, and I want them to be able to add and remove torrents easily.

I have reconfigured it so that there is only 'Remove' in the right click list, and it now does 'RemoveAll()' but what I would also like to be able to do is change what the 'Delete' key on the keyboard does. I'd either like to remove it's functionality completely or change it to 'RemoveAll()' as well.

I have to have it on remove all as the users that access the machine can not (and I will not allow it) remove files from the folders, only copy on to their machines.

This means that the torrent machine fills up with crap quickly, and I can't always be there to empty it (It only has a 40GB drive, and I'm not about to get a bigger one as it doesn't need it).

Could you either point me in the right direction for modifying the code in the main file, or post a version that is modified in the way that I've asked? Cheers.

EDIT: Nevermind, I worked it out. Sorry if you don't like people butchering your code, but I prefer that I have an idiot proof deletion system as they don't listen when I tell them to remove it properly.

FinalD

When will we be able to actually open the file from a distance ? I want to watch The Office at work.

(Damn I can't stop smiling when thinking utorrent uses windows's api while webui doesn't work with IE. Kinda rare to need proprietary and open source software to run another single piece of software. Rah no wine on the linux machines over there. Damn you win api you're so good)

For the problem getting gibberish data as in #954> You just haven't put the "webUI.zip" in your %Appdata%\uTorrent folder, next to the "settings.dat" Done It, it solved the same problem I got.

Yeah so basically whoever is or isn't developing is not doing much. The WebUI is quite buggy and featureless and as said it hasn't been updated in over a year or something. Come on.. how about you open source the code so someone can actually do something about it.

I understand we can't expect too much but hey.. over a year. That's insane.
